Horry Georgetown Technical College Foundation
The Grace and Grits Fund was established to honor the history, traditions, and culinary arts that have shaped the cultural landscape of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Annual contributions from the Grace and Grits Fund are directed to organizations that support social diversity initiatives, after-school programs, culinary education, and underserved members of the local community. This scholarship was established to encourage aspiring chefs and entrepreneurs in the Georgetown County School system to pursue their dreams. A candidate for this scholarship award must be a resident of Georgetown County and a graduate of Georgetown or Waccamaw High School

The Woodson Center
The Woodson Center works to identify and bring recognition and funding to strengthen the efforts of indigenous neighborhood leaders and organizations that are effectively addressing critical problems of their communities through innovative initiatives.
Mission: The Woodson Center’s mission is to transform lives, schools, and troubled neighborhoods, from the inside out. Current programs are the Violence-Free Zone youth violence reduction program and training and technical assistance for community/faith-based organizations.

Friendship Place
Mission – To provide a hand-up for people to meet their basic needs.
Vision – A commitment of religious groups, community organizations and volunteers working together to supply the missing link to people by providing services to meet their emergency daily living needs.
Services – Hot meal program: 5 days a week, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm, Open to anyone in the community, Devotionals and prayers led by clients
Temporary Emergency Shelter: Application and background check
Smith Medical Clinic Shuttle: Weekly from Georgetown to Pawleys Island
Job Training: Developed and implemented a Nurses Aide Training Program
Expansion Efforts: Areas in the county without adequate access to food and medical treatment.

Every morning in Georgetown County, one in three low-income adults wakes up to another day without health insurance, hoping not to suffer a serious illness or injury. For them, Smith Medical Clinic, Inc. is a lifesaver.
Smith Medical Clinic, Inc. provides free of charge medical care to residents of Georgetown County who do not have insurance and cannot afford to pay for medical care. We help our patients enjoy better health by providing excellent care, education and support.
