HPP – High Pressure Processingpalmetto chicken salad

We do understand that the plastic seal is rather strong and difficult to remove, so we are actively researching and evaluating packaging improvements.

We use High Pressure Processing (HPP) in order to naturally extend the shelf life of our Palmetto Chicken Salad. HPP is a cold pasteurization by which products, already sealed in final packaging, are introduced into a vessel and subjected to a high level of hydrostatic pressures. The technology is a natural, environmentally friendly process that helps maintain fresh food characteristics including the original nutrition, texture, and taste. So, when the product is packed, the plastic film must be welded to the cup. This ensures the seal will not be compromised when exposed to the high pressure of this process.  Welding the seal is what protects the freshness, but regrettably, it also makes it difficult to peel off.
